The LSU Board of Supervisors held a meeting on Friday morning to discuss Brian Kelly’s lawsuit against the school.

Most of the meeting took place behind closed doors during an executive session, but concluded publicly, with the Board giving new school president Wade Rousse authority to send Kelly a written notice of termination.

Kelly was fired by the school last month and is suing LSU for the full buyout amount left on his contract.

The Board of Supervisors meeting on Friday was their first response to Kelly’s lawsuit.

Why would you wait till after you told CBK to take a walk and formally terminate him? Not handled very well.

They are saying the AD at the time didn't have authority to fire him.

Then why have an AD?

The AD decided to fire him without getting the ok from the BoS.

However the lawsuit and settlement shakes out, this is an 8 figure payoff to fire someone. That decision better not be in the hands of one person.

Yeah, it's called giving the man a pink slip. Why should that take a month to do? That should have been wait on him the Monday after he was "fired".

if there is no settlement and BK wins a judgement, He can only be paid if the legislature appropriates the funds.

They won't do that. It would discourage future coaches from coming here.
