The hiring of Bill Belichick at North Carolina has added a wrinkle to LSU's pursuit of Tar Heels' quarterback commit Bryce Baker.

Baker, a four-star prospect from Kernersville, N.C., was set to sign with North Carolina, but the firing of Mack Brown made him re-evaluate his situation. Since then, LSU and Penn State have jumped in the mix to sign Baker.

With Belichick now being hired, Baker will reportedly meet with him tonight before he makes a final decision.

The 6-3, 200-pound passer is the rated No. 8 overall quarterback in the county for 2025, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Adding Bellichek to the equation would make any player reevaluate how much money they want in the NIL to go or stay anywhere. Those rings represent excellence and that is something LSU could use a serious dose of right about now. Baker will stay and play for NC.

Ah yes good ole tigerdroppings logic. Recruits don’t care where they go it’s only about money but also recruits will sign with belichek only because of Super Bowl rings. Make up your mind

There’s a reason no other NFL teams really pursued him seriously.

Well this is retarded. Anybody jumping off the Nuss Bus thinking a true freshman was gonna come in and beat him out when we’re paying him $1.5 million+ is an absolute fricking moron.

He’s actually right. It’s 8. He won two as a DC. So he can technically flash 8 rings at someone.

He’s only got a 3 year deal. Opposing coaches will use that against him.

His skins on the wall, initially, will be a huge advantage with recruits.

His skins aren't in college ball, butI think he'll be successful if he personally recruits. At his age Im not sure if he will recruit or delegate it to someone else. Like his GM.

So pretty much like every top-level coach? Saban and Kirby seem like such sweet guys.
