Former LSU running back John Emery Jr. officially entered the transfer portal on Wednesday.

A former five-star recruit and member of the 2019 national championship team, Emery Jr. accumulated 1,123 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns over his career.

Injuries and academic issues have limited his playing time. Notably, he missed the entire 2021 season due to academic ineligibility and suffered season-ending knee injuries in both 2023 and 2024.

The 2025 season will be Emery Jr.'s 7th season.

Booo hate this move by Kelly. Downvote away. I’ll take you all on hahaha

Next time LSU gets stuffed on 3rd & 1 think about Ole Emery

Agreed. He was our best back against USC… half an inch from scoring the go-ahead TD.
He and Durham would be a great 1-2 punch. Jackson has no vision, Holly has the legal issues, and Berry is unproven despite showing lots of promise.
