Former LSU quarterback TJ Finley committed to Incarnate Word this week after spending last season at Georgia State.

Incarnate Word is Finley's 7th college program over his career.

The former four-star recruit from Ponchatoula, La., signed with the Tigers in 2020 and was a backup to Myles Brennan.

Finley transferred to Auburn, where he served as Bo Nix's backup in 2021 and was named the starter in 2022. He hit the transfer portal again after graduating from Auburn in 2023.

After Auburn, Finley spent time at Texas State and Western Kentucky, then made a brief stop at Tulane before committing to Georgia State.

I think his “stop at Georgia State” was a cup of coffee on concourse C at the airport…

I don't blame the kid. He likes playing football and he's likely not going pro. And he got some NIL money from some of these schools along the way (I doubt much from I.W., hopefully saved from some of the bigger schools), while he can.

I wonder if his NIL deal is sponsored by Ensure ? Werther's Original candy ?

Or some reverse mortgage company?

He could provide some senior leadership to some of his young coaches.

When you say senior leadership, you're really meaning senior citizen, right?

Everytime he transfers he goes to a lower tier college. At this rate he will transfer back to high school by 2027

"Finley, who is also a father of three, said he wants to show his kids that they should never give up."
