Former LSU quarterback Michael Van Buren has reportedly signed with USF out of the transfer portal.

Van Buren, a sophomore from Bowie, Md., became LSU's starter after replacing Garrett Nussmeier for the final three games of the season and the Texas Bowl.

He played in seven total games at LSU, passing for 1,010 yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions.

This will be Van Buren's third college stop after beginning his career at Mississippi State.

i am probably one of a small number of people who wish this kid had stayed around to see if Coach Kiffin could have developed him. I liked his style and i don't think there is any way to know his potential with the God-awful line and scheme from last year.

I actually think under Kiffin in a quick decision offense that let him use his legs. He’s a much better runner than he was at MS State. I hope he does well but it sure would have been nice to have a player like him backing up whoever starts. Maybe they get the Elon QB to be the #2.
