UPDATE: Joe Burrow's Toe Injury Will Require Surgery

Former LSU and current Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a turf toe injury against the Jaguars during the 2nd quarter and was unable to return.

After the game, Burrow was in a walking boot and on crutches.

ESPN Insider Adam Schefter reports that images of Burrow's toe are being sent to foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson for review to determine whether he will need surgery.

Here's another update from NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport:

Turf toe sounds like a minor injury….it’s not.

This is why you improve the OLine instead of overpaying a WR2.

He will be known as Glass Joe unfortunately. Really hate to see that half his pro career through 6 years will be on the sideline due to injury.

I've had this fun injury. Still messed to this day. he's gonna need a screw in his foot for this. My foot is still visibly off from the toe going all the way back and touching top of my foot.

It seems like he is injury prone. Rookie season was knee due to horrible O line. Then 2 years ago his wrist. Now his toe. That's 3 years taken off his pro career. If he is out 3 months, no way he comes back unless the Bengals are still in playoff contention which they most likely won't be. He would not need to come back to play meaningless games.
