Ed Orgeron Provides Updates On The Quarterback Situation

Ed Orgeron said Monday that LSU quarterback Max Johnson will remain the starter vs. ULM this weekend as Garrett Nussmeier didn't do enough vs. Arkansas to beat out Johnson for the starting role.

Orgeron added that Garrett and his father Doug Nussmeier, who is the Dallas Cowboys quarterback coach, will have to decide what is best for him and redshirt status. Orgeron suggested that if it were up to him, he would have Nussmeier redshirt this season.

If it were up to him? (this is why he is not a leader) He's a recruiter, he's a dline coach, he can coach certain aspects of the team but he cannot lead young student athletes. They look to him for answers, not questions.

I didn't realize that a head coach being paid $5M+ a year is taking advice from his players' parents on who gets to start at one of the country's top programs. :mindblown: When will this nighmare end?

Coaches don't often determine if a kid is going to redshirt or not. It is typically up to the kid/family. Why would that decision make you speechless?
