Gus Stark / LSU Athletics
Former LSU head coach Brian Kelly discussed his firing from LSU on Sirius XM College Sports Radio this morning. Here's what he had to say:
quote:

"The easy answer is I didn't win enough games. That's the bottom line, right?" Kelly said. "We came there to build a program, and we didn't get a chance to finish it. Disappointed that we didn't get to finish the job."

...

"The situation at LSU got very complex, right? You know, there were a lot of people who were involved," Kelly explained.

"Leading up to my firing, the president was forced out. And he was a big reason why I took the job."

"Our senior associate athletic director, our athletic director, and the chair of the board are now gone."

"So, you know, there were bigger things going on..."

It became complex because you chewed out tthe press while covering an injury only to admit a cup of coffee later there was an injury..

You deal with that situation honestly you are still the coach. It took a real cluster to need to buyout that contract

Complex, as in the performance of the football team was sliding steadily down hill.

Brian Kelly won one game of importance during his time @ LSU. His first game against Alabama that went into overtime!

The biggest reason you coming to LSU was the millions upon millions of dollars on your contract!

Your recruiting was subpar. Most of you staff was subpar , bottom line, 7-5 and regime change got you fired.. You were never a top tier SEC level coach. You were a bottom half type SEC coach.

I pooped today and I named it Brian Kelly. I'd still prefer to listen to my new pet turd talk about sourdough starters than to listen to that piece of dog $h!t.

"Leading up to my firing, the president was forced out. And he was a big reason why I took the job."

He just throws this out there. I have never heard he was forced out. Some talk about Tate not wanting to deal with Landry. Tate is why the past 2 incoming fall freshman classes have had less than 50% white enrollees. He hid his racial politics on the academic side behind big name hires of white coaches.

Should have brought in your own qb and not rode with Nuss.

They were fired because of the moronic contract and stipulations they agreed to for you to be here. You and THEY suck cock. Good riddance

“ The situation got very complex“ … yeah you jackass, you continue to play a hurt quarterback, instead of resting him early in the season and or didn’t have a viable option at number two

Tate was heavily recruited and hired hired away from LSU by Rutgers. He did great things for LSU academically and in competitive sports. BK was a cheap suit with a huge paycheck who mailed it in when he lost the team and fan base.
