LSU running back Kaleb Jackson is reportedly entering the transfer portal after three years with the Tigers.

Jackson joins running back JuJuan Johnson, who announced his plans to enter the transfer portal earlier this week.

Jackson, a former four-star prospect from Liberty Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, played in every game during his first two seasons at LSU but only appeared in four games this past season.

He rushed for 165 yards and four touchdowns during his freshman season, but his productivity decreased in year two with the emergence of freshman Caden Durham in 2024.

Durham and freshman Harlem Berry handled the bulk of the carries this past season and head into the Texas Bowl as LSU's only running backs on the roster.

Truly hope the young man finds a program that is a great fit for him. He was a mismatch from day one at LSU.

If we're being honest, between LSU's crap scheme and crap OL, they needed Barry Sanders in the backfield to establish any sort of running game.

Jim Brown or perhaps Bo Jackson

Yeah just not a great fit. He would have been all-SEC in the Les Miles era though.

100% expected considering he saved his redshirt. He was leaving even without the coaching change.

Yeah, but the coaching change didn’t change his mind either.

Might as well go somewhere that he can get some carries. Best of luck to this young man. Thanks for being a Tiger!

I suppose, but they clearly had Jackson in the photo.

Never had a legitimate opportunity. First year looked incredible.

Good luck young man. TYFYS. Keep you head up, shoulders low, and find an LB to hit.

He has a lot of talent and showed flashes from time to time, but Kelly's staff could never coach a line to produce an effective runner who wasn't JD. I hope Jackson shows his real potential wherever he goes.

Let's make a pact we never mention Brian Kelly's name again. I didn't like his hiring & never thought he was a good coach anywhere.

God, everything gets blamed on Kelly. Let me tell you Jackson's REAL problems. He is fast and physical but he can't cut. And his vision of the LOS is either poor or he knows he can't cut so he runs into the pile. He was overrated out of HS, and let me guess, that was Brian Kelly's fault also. You anti-Kelly minions need to quit blaming bad weather and everything else on Brian Kelly. Jackson met his potential and it wasn't good enough to start at a good FBS program. 'nuff said.

Well yes. This BK’s fault also. If you recognized deficiencies, then surely the elite college coach would notice said deficiencies? So yes, scouting and lack of development are both on the New England
dumpster fire, Brian Kelly

Durham is the best RB we have. I think Berry was guaranteed to see action as a freshman and that's what got his signature. I hope Jackson finds a program that will give him an opportunity because I don't think he's a pretty good RB.

Yeah, I thought and he should have transferred last season. He simply isn't a high quality FBS back. Whereever he goes will prove that statement.

Don't care. He never showed any talent after his one bull run vs Mississippi State.
