Four-star LSU quarterback commit TJ Finley announced that he will sign with the Tigers on Wednesday and begin practicing with the team on Thursday as they start to prep for Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl semifinal.

Finley, a 6-6, 240-pound prospect from Ponchatoula, LA, has been committed to LSU since May of 2018. He is rated the No. 23 pocket passer for the class of 2020, according to ESPN.

We're going to need to double the pounds and pounds of crawfish and gumbo.

It's stated as 240. I don't know what you guys are seeing...

I was assuming it was a typo that was edited, I just made a joke off his comment. I dunno. It's Larry, anything is possible.

Finley all LSU and excited to be a Tiger! Recruited hard for us and never waivered in his commitment to LSU. Glad to see him on board and eager to get going!

He is also young, and may end up growing a few inches taller. I can see DB's not wanting to blitz more than once.

Tomatoes don't belong in gumbo.

Any word from a reliable knowledge source just how legit this kid is?

Seen him since a freshman. Nice kid. Good arm. Nothing like Cam Newton running the ball. Probably at best a 4.8 forty.

I don't know much about Finley. Is he an accurate passer?

The video shows talent but I wanted to see some Cam Newton moves. Opponents won't like to see the QB draw.

I am assuming because of his size, that he will not be fun to tackle when he runs. If he can throw, watch the F out.

This Kid can sling. His decision making is little concerning but that can be fixed.

If this kid was from another State he would be rated a 5. LSU did great here.

Burrow was not rated a 5 don't need to be a 5* burrow is prime example : )

I love it. A Heisman gets kids excited about a program.

Can't wait to see us with a string of QB's excelling and developed by Brady after what he did with Burrow. Hope TJ works hard and is ready when it's his time.

Ensminger is the QB coach, not Brady.
user avatar

No, Ensminger is the OC. Brady is assistant OC and QB coach.

Kid is tall, maybe too tall. If he grows anymore, he is going to be in dangerous territory. There are very few great QBs over 6'6. If he has a great arm, he should be focusing on baseball.

There have been only 6 QBs in NFL history over 6'6 (LINK and none of them were very good. To act like this wouldn't be a factor at all is pretty odd. There is such a thing as too tall..
