Starting Miami center Jakai Clark entered the transfer portal this week and received an offer from LSU on Friday.

Clark, a former three-star prospect from Grayson, Ga., started 42 games and played 2,717 snaps during his time at Miami. He will graduate this semester and be a grad transfer enrollee in the summer.

The Tigers return starting center Charles Turner in 2023.

Portal is lame

This is the CFB format for now and Kelly has excelled at building LSU with it! He took a 2021 team with 38 Scholarships and won the West! We’ll compete for the West again in 23… he’s doing an incredible job!

I will never get used to the concept of “offering” a kid who’s on somebody else’s roster

Title is kinda misleading. He entered his name in the transfer portal and received an offer thereafter.

Most of the time, the kid is still on the roster because he can always stay put even if he’s in the portal…so not misleading at all and very weird.

Once a player sends in the paperwork to enter the portal they forfeit their Scholarship. Depending on the situation, the player & the school their original school can allow them to remain at that Univ. but they aren’t obligated to do so. So its a gamble that doesn’t always work out for players that aren’t “Starter” quality.

Me either brother.
The pageantry is gone.

NFL. Semipro league.

I agree with the general sentiment, but in this particular case, he is a grad transfer. So he could have made the switch even in the pre-portal good ole days, like Joe Burrow and Russell Wilson did.

The only good thing is BK seems to excel in its current format, so it's going to be interesting to see how it all works till more rules are in place.
