Three-star defensive end Jaquon Griffin from Rome, GA announced Monday night that he has de-committed from LSU and has reopened his recruitment.

Griffin originally committed to LSU in April during the Tigers’ annual Spring Game.

The loss of Griffin puts the Tigers at 18 verbal commitments for the class of 2018 with the early signing period just 16 days away.

This is a “You should find another place to play” move

But, we should always pull for any SEC school if LSU isn't in the game. It is good for the SEC, !@#$ that. If it helps another school's recruiting it is NOT good for LSU. Plain and simple. End of discussion.

Yeah screw that bs. Would rather him go out of conference than to another SEC team. Unless your comment was meant to be sarcastic, why on earth would you want another sec program to boost their team up?

Best de-commit I can remember, kid should thank LSU for the 3 stars; he had 0 when we offered the trio.

LSU probably encouraged him to look elsewhere

NO - not a 3 star!!! Guess we'll have to fill his spot with a 5 star.

I'm sorry, but this seems a bit like it was encouraged. I mean, wasn't he the third of a trio we were trying to pull, with a really big fish LB? We offered all three with the hope of getting the one. We didn't get the big fish.

Normally I’d say I’m not a ‘star gazer’ but it seems like he was just in the mix to get the other two. He has a very weak offer list. And that’s with a lot of exposure.

He has small college size and speed. He will tear it up at Appalachian state. He is a strong kid but his size is off.

C’mon people, before shoving your .02$ in, follow the situation or at the very least; GOGGLE UP. As I see it, Dude has only one sec offer left. ANd they are coachless at the moment. Hint hint hint. He’s third best on his teams front seven. JEEZ

Dang it, lost a 3-star. I hope this doesn't crash the recruiting class.
