Multiple sources are reporting that four-star Crimson Tide linebacker commit Chris Allen will visit LSU this weekend instead Alabama.

Allen has been committed to Alabama since late November but the LSU coaching has been working hard to the flip the Baton Rouge native to stay home and play for the Tigers.

The 6-3, 235-pound prospect from Southern University Lab is rated the No. 6 outside linebacker in the country and No. 4 overall player from the state of Louisiana for the class of 2017, according to 247Sports.

LSU currently only has one linebacker commit for the class of 2017 in four-star prospect Patrick Queen from Livonia, LA. Getting Allen on campus this weekend

I'm certain Saban experiences human joy. He just doesn't show it, like his mentor in New England

Ask Marcus Spears what it's like for a Southern Lab kid to stay home and play for the Tigers. I still remember watching him return his interception for a TD in the Dome, and I will never forget the billboard he rented on I-10 just to thank the fans for supporting him. Go to Bama and you can play for a vindictive dickhead who is incapable of experiencing human joy, or stay in BR and play for a man who's been where you are and is loved by his players.

You don't want to live in the land of red clay and pine trees. I know this from experience. Take pride in your unique state.

Saban used to not allow committees to visit other schools...wonder if he has softened on that stance?

He has no choice. He knows the time is near.

As much as anything, Saban's secret to his success imo is superior linebackers. Unfortunately, the majority of these come from North Louisiana. If we can flip Allen and start chipping away at these recruits, we should be able to level the playing field. Dave Aranda and Coach O realize this I'm sure and as most of you have stated: Early playing time at LSU should be an easy sell.

He did. I was thinking the same thing. Hoping this isn't a repeat of that fiasco.

I read he moved the Alabama visit to the following weekend. Is it true or did he completely cancel the Alabama visit altogether?

Moved Bama to Jan 20, per Rivals.

He has not rescheduled a visit to Bama so at this point it's a cancellation

I hope he has come to the realization that the only reason Bama wants him is to LSU weaker. He won't play in Bama. Saban just wants to stash him away on the dept chart, away from LSU. And then when he decides to transfer, he won't be allowed to go to LSU because we are a rival school. Make the smart choice son. Go where you can play right away in a place where you're already admired.

Saban is doing this to every sec team. A strategy that could eventually hurt the Sec.

Come on young man, LSU is where it's happening. You can see if you are ready to play as a freshman, YOU will get that chance just ask D White. Come on Tiger, as a native Louisianian you know the passion this state has for the Tigers, make us all proud.

Man if we can get Chris Allen, along with Willie Gay and Jacob Phillips, that would be the icing on our recruiting class.

When LSU be the school that everyone talks about having to redshirt and then having wait 3-4 years to wait to play because of all the All-Americans we have? Make this happen Chris!

Bama stocked at LB position, he would redshirt and wont possibly see the field for 3 years. Come to LSU and see the field next season. Should be a no-brainier, but Saban talks!

Makes sense to come to LSU for him. Better chance of starting, Dominant defense with best DC in the country, and a chance to compete for titles
user avatar
I cant believe he's even taking this long to consider it. Wait 3-4 years to play at bama, and compete with all -americans to see the field, or start for 3+ years on a defense that's just as good as Bama's.
