LSU Basketball was picked to finished 12th in the SEC, as voted by a select panel of both SEC and national media members. The Kentucky Wildcats were picked to win the SEC Championship.

LSU sophomore shooting guard Antonio Blakeney was named to the All-SEC Second team. Per LSUSports.net:

The Sarasota, Florida native averaged 12.6 points a game last night, starting 24-of-the-33 games, hitting 52 three-pointers.

Blakeney was one of the most effective players in the league over the final 11 games, averaging over 18 points a game including two games scoring over 30 points (31 versus Mississippi State and 32 against Florida). Blakeney averaged 14.2 points a game in the SEC.

Jones and this team will outperform this prediction. 18-19 wins and .500 in the SEC. I won't say that they'll make the NCAAt, but I can say that they won't turn down a #1 or #2 seed on the NIT, lol. Geaux Tigers!

12th in the SEC....wow someone is really seeing something that I don't. I saw LSU as no better than 14th in the SEC with JJ as the coach. I personally had them as the 15th best team in the SEC

With JA finally working the courage to fire Miles, how on earth did Coach JJ not get fired after last season's train wreck. I hope the team is able to put together a respectable season for an NIT bid.

We surprise everyone with a tie for 7th place finish @ 10-8. Much more talent than people realize, much better chemistry.
