LSU Basketball Suffers Blowout Loss To Arkansas At The PMAC, 91-62

BATON ROUGE, LA. – The LSU men’s basketball team fell to the 21st-ranked Arkansas, 91-62, on Tuesday night inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
With the loss, LSU drops to 14-10, while Arkansas improves to 18-6 on the season.
The Tigers had a slow start to the contest. The Razorbacks went on an 8-0 streak to start the game and was up 10-2 by the first media timeout. Arkansas held a 42-27 advantage over the Tigers at the end of the first half. LSU shot 11-of-32 (34.4%) from the floor, while Arkansas went 17-of-34 (50%). Both teams drained two from deep. LSU had 20 rebounds to Arkansas’ 19. The Razorbacks dominated the paint, owning 30 points to the Tigers' 16.
In the second half, Arkansas extended its lead, outscoring LSU 49-35. The Razorbacks’ largest run was 9-0, further pulling them away from the Tigers. LSU made 10-of-36 (27.8%) field goals and 14-of-20 (70%) from the free throw line. Arkansas recorded 18-of-28 shots for 64.3 percent and 12-of-16 (75%) from the line. Arkansas had 15 fastbreak points and 10 points off of turnovers. LSU had five steals and 23 rebounds.
Marquel Sutton led the Tigers in scoring with 18 points on 7-of-16 from the field to go with six rebounds. Pablo Tamba earned 11 points on 3-of-7 shooting, and Rob Miller had 10 points on 2-of-4 shots.
Darius Acuff Jr. was the leading scorer for the Razorbacks, finishing with 28 points on 13-of-22 shooting.
The Tigers are back on the court Saturday, Feb. 14, traveling to face Tennessee. The game will tip off at 5:00 p.m. CT at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee.
