Former five-star center Mitchell Robinson from New Orleans was granted his release from Western Kentucky by head coach Rick Stansbury on Monday night.
Robinson was set to begin his freshman season at WKU before leaving school last week. He is now free to transfer to any school of his choosing and many believe that LSU could have a very good chance at landing him on campus.
Robinson, a 7-footer from Chalmette High School averaged 26 points, 15 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game during his senior season.
He was rated the No. 1 center and the No. 1 overall player from the state of Louisiana for the class of 2017, according to 247Sports.
