Report: Pat Casey No Longer A Candidate For The LSU Job

The Advocate is reporting that retired Oregon State coach Pat Casey, who was rumored to be a leading candidate for the LSU baseball coaching vacancy, is unlikely to be hired as the Tigers next coach.

The Advocate spoke with LSU's Cody Worsham who said the "search is wide open."

On Wednesday, a source confirmed to The Advocate that Casey visited Baton Rouge and was one of the candidates on the school’s search list. Earlier that day, a report emerged calling Casey the leading candidate for the position.

“Any reports about a leading candidate are incorrect,” Worsham told The Advocate. “The search is wide open. We’re going to hire the best candidate for LSU.”

Worsham added: “No coach has been offered the job. The process is still open.”

Look where Bianco came from …he was a young young coach at McNeese when ole miss grabbed him, same a Robicheaux at ULL There are loads of up and comers we can get. One thing I’ve noticed is there isn’t a lot ex Tigers coaching so it’s prolly gonna be someone with no ties to LSU. Heck, any coach who gets a northern school in college WS is worth a look

We need to find a young up and comer like Bakich from Michigan or the East Carolina coach. Kids come to play for LSU not the coach. Anyway, I have total faith in our AD to get a good one. He’s shown he can move the needle. As long as Crews,Morgan , Dugas and Thompson stick around someone is gonna inherit a good team. Plus the way Bianca came on we be fine next year
