Jay Johnson and the LSU Tigers landed a commitment from Utah Valley infielder Daniel Dickinson on Tuesday morning.

The sophomore from Richland, WA. led the Wolverines in batting average (.367), slugging percentage (.661), hits (90), total bases (192), and stolen bases (32) this past season. Here are his 2024 stats:

It could be worse. Have you seen these guys in the Bigs with the beards covering the letters on the jersey and the hair down to their belt. I don't recognize the game I grew up loving when it comes to respecting the uniform and looking professional.

The age of player development is over. Best recommendation for a young player not highly recruited go to small school, prove your worth & then enter transfer portal.

Theoretically he would better develop by transferring to a bigger school with high caliber coaches and playing against better competition. The age of smaller schools retaining players who had a great seasons is pretty much over.
