good lord, the pitcher was chasing the ball. He didn't realize he was about to blow up the runner until just before contact.

Yea, the pitcher was jogging, the runner was flying. Poor pitcher took a vicious hit. LMFAO!!! Vicious hit?!?! I can't even write that without laughing!!! Usually the term vicious hit is reserved for football plays. But, I suppose for a baseball play, yea, that runner was flying when he nailed the pitcher who was barley jogging by the time they collided.

I’m here to give credit to the runner for not getting up and attacking that dude. He would’ve been well warranted to fight the guy but just got up and ran home. Good job kid

Did anybody actually watch the video? The pitcher didn't target the runner -- he was chasing the BALL, which has bounced up the third base line.

Amen!!! These idiots just want to make a villain out of a kid. I doubt a single one of these people who are calling that kid a thug or something else have even played a sport in their life. But, yea, watch the pitchers eye's, he is looking at the ball up until the last 10th of a second when he looks at the runner. And, the runner could have avoided the collision, but because the uploader already villainized the pitcher, all these morons just jump on the bandwagon.

Oh look. Another idiot. Why would he go directly to the rhnner. He would have went towards home plate. He also loads up to hit him. Coward play

When I was a pitcher as a kid, my job would have been to cover home plate.

the pitcher was chasing the ball, which had bounced off the catcher and up the 3rd base line.

Do they do things differently now where pitchers run after wild pitchers instead of going to home plate to cover it? Who covers home plate? The 1st baseman? Only time I've ever seen a pitcher need to make that run/angle is if they are running into the dugout.

Dick move? Yeah. He was rightfully tossed from the game. However, calling for more action isn't warranted. I can see reacting that way. Kid was frustrated he just threw a 48' pitch that got away to give up a run. Not the smartest thing to do but he's a freaking hormone raging teenager in a high stress situation. Kids have done worse.

He got ejected, in Tampa, he will get an actual fine. It's either $50 or $100.

uh, the pitcher was going after the ball, which has bounced far up the third base line.
