Well done to the diver, he held his composure, after having the surprise of a life time. Did exactly the right things, maintained an eye on it, screamed bubbles in dominance, didn't shoot the shark, just fended his space, warned his mates and looked back down to visually, catch out the Sharks sneaky third approach. Amazing how well eye contact can work. Amazing how any predator will 'chase' you if you flee. Unfortunately having to get air, the diver has to boost to the surface, and seemingly flee. But then he does the right thing and visually blocks the white coming up. It's clearly just checking him out through curiosity, but holy shite that would give you a fright.

My first thought was that if I had the harpoon I'd feel halfway decent about defending myself if I could jam it down its throat as it comes my way... but then I noticed how poor the visibility is and how easy it would be for it to get out of my line of sight, circle around behind me and boom. This is why I would fear sharks way more than most land predators. There's a lot more angles they can hit you from and you're basically running in quicksand to get away
