Steve Sarkisian Reveals What He’s Learned From Nick Saban
© RVR Photos-USA TODAY Sports
Yesterday we learned that Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is leaving Tuscaloosa to be the new head coach at Texas. At his introductory press conference on Saturday, he talked a little about what he's learned from Nick Saban...
quote:

“I think now having spent some time in the National Football League and having spent obviously the last two years with Coach Saban here in Alabama, you realize the value in the staff and why you hire such a good staff is to put people in place to do what you’re asking them to do what they’re hired to do,” Sarkisian said per Saturday Down South. “And in turn, I think that takes some of the burden off of your shoulders as the head coach and allows you to manage people and not overreact to some of the other things that are going on and allow those people to do what they do.”

So he learned the art of delegation. Nice. I learned it in my first two years in the Marine Corps. Hope he learns to go easy on the sauce at Texas.

So he had to learn that you need a good staff to have a successful program? If this isn’t common knowledge among coaches then we should give up and go watch soccer.

That's what you expect from a meaningless speech. A bunch of meaningless banter. He tried to compliment Saban & that's the best he could do.
