Report: Maurice Smith Granted Full Release By Crimson Tide

Tuscaloosa News is reporting that Alabama has granted a full release to defensive back Maurice Smith, allowing him to transfer within the SEC:

Smith, who graduated from Alabama last Saturday, can contact any school including those within the SEC about a potential transfer with the release. The status of any possible transfer within the conference would depend on approval of a waiver by the Southeastern Conference office.

Smith graduated earlier this month and would like to follow his former coaches Kirby Smart and Mel Tucker to Georgia.

Maurice Smith would have been a lot better off if he had stayed in Texas. He still could have played in the SEC and he would have a degree that opens doors in his home state. He could also have been playing for the SEC's top ranked DC who just turned a 2nd string RB into a starting NFL corner in one fall.

The sec's top ranked dc is in Texas. Please tell me you arent talking about 3rd and Chavis. Ask 1 LSU fan if they'd like to have Chavis over Aranda. Guarantee you wont get the answer your looking for

Slow your roll fierysnowman, and maybe wait until Aranda has actually coached a conference game before anointing him. LOL. Chavis did take a second string running back and in one fall, turned him into a 3rd round pick that may be an NFL starter. Not too shabby a coaching job. Check the recent sporting publications. Chavis was ranked number 1.
