During his appearance on Get Up! this morning, Paul Finebaum said Nick Saban is “not going anywhere” after winning his sixth national title with Alabama, but did caution that the only thing that could derail his time with the Crimson Tide is the ongoing push for NIL legislation in college athletics...
quote:

“Heather, with all due respect, you know how much I love you — it’s not going to be Jimbo Fisher. I promise you,” Finebaum said, referring to the Texas A&M head coach who promised to beat Alabama recently. “It is going to be name image and likeness. When this goes through in another couple of months, I think it will probably send Nick Saban and every other coach up the wall, and it really depends on how he navigates that issue in terms of how many more national championships he wins.”
This was Saban's comments on NIL in a recent media session...
quote:

“I’m not sure anybody knows for sure how it will impact us or affect us because we don’t know for sure what the parameters are and what the rules are,” Saban said. “Look, I’m all for the players. My biggest concern is how do we manage this, how do we police this and how do we make sure that it’s fair for everybody? The NCAA has always tried to keep a level playing field for everyone, so hopefully this is something that will be fair for everyone and everyone will have an opportunity to create some value for themselves and their brand but at the same time it won’t create advantages for anyone.”

Saban will adapt and Alabama will remain where it’s been. No story here.

NIL is going to prolong Saban's success. The REC is going to make sure every Bama recruit gets a Mercedes full of hundred dollar bills.

Right. This just means they can save recruiting budget on other things and those Dodge Chargers will just appear. Bama has already created a branding program that is ready to pounce on this the second it's pushed through.

No one navigates rules changes better than Nick Saban. Anyone who thinks he can’t navigate NIL is an idiot, a troll or both, otherwise known as Paul Finebaum. I long for the day Finebaum no longer has a presence on ESPN/SEC Network.

Not going to create an advantage for anyone.....is pure fantasy. It will create advantges for some in the same locker room, let alone teams.

Anyone who thinks Saban's Alabama won't adapt to NIL better than any other program hasn't been paying attention to the last 10 years of college football

Pawl doesn’t know a damn thing.

NIL just means more Chargers for Bammers. Nick will be just fine in terms of “navigating” this.

A&M has the richest collection of alumni in the SEC. So name, image and likeness will be on our side, pawl. As it will for all the top schools in this league. Its a pointless question. Personally I don’t think it changes much for LSU, Bama A&M, Florida, UGA. All of these schools have rich alumni and athletic departments. They are in very good positions.
