Texas Pitching vs Georgia Gorilla Ball is gonna be fun today..
Hopefully, Volantis brings his “A game”.. Texas won’t be able to shut the bats down, but here are Georgia’s runs scored in losses this year.
Weekend
4 vs Tennessee
5 @ Texas A&M
2 vs Florida
7 vs Florida
3 @ Arkansas
8 @ Ole Miss
4 @ Auburn
33 runs scored in 7 losses
Midweek
3 vs Wright State *
5 vs Troy *
9 vs Western Carolina *
7 vs Kennesaw State *
4 @ Georgia Tech *
28 runs scored in 5 losses
61 runs scored in 12 losses
So the key is holding Georgia to 6 runs or less.. maybe 1-2 more if our bats show up.. either way, that’s the recipe

Texas probably has better pitching and has a chance to beat UGA. Obviously I want Georgia to win, but no outcome of this game would surprise me. Either team could make it out of the losers bracket and come back to win it all.

I think most people realize these are the 2 best teams left in the tourney. Whoever wins tonight is most likely winning the whole thing.

I think Texas has to start 2-0 to have a chance. Y'alls lineup is so stout losing tonight is not a catastrophic loss.
UGA is the better team full stop but baseball is a weird sport where shite can happen.

it is with our lack of elite pitching. It's not season ending necessarily, but we're going to have to win like 4 games in a row includign texas again, so it'll be tough as hell.

we are the better team over the course of the season, but in one game tonight with the 2 pitchers texas will throw tonight the season history goes out the window. These are 2 of the best pitchers in the entire country and texas will go all out to win game 1 so I'm sure we'll see both. If texas throws both dudes and UGA still wins you might as well just hand us the trophy as we're walking off the field.

This game is 50/50 imo and could go either way.. but it’s baseball, so who knows what will happen.

I’m not so sure about that. This is our 39th trip to Omaha, but we’ve fought our way out of the elimination bracket to win it all exactly once (in 1950). The loser’s bracket tends to decimate your pitching staff.
