It's not a troll attempt or anything, that has been Mizzou first basemen Emma Raabe's walk up song her entire career.

I am liking Matt Campbell more with each passing day. He's done very well at Toledo and recruited very well too.

Gary Patterson is a defensive guy. If you want his offense, hire Doug Meachem his OC.

I wasn't planning on making the trip because I will be down in Springfield on Friday, but I feel obligated to attend now that so many people have become turncoats.

I was there at the parade. I am as conflicted and troubled by it now as I was then. The one constant thing I have felt is that he should have found a way to address them. He got a reprieve and met with them weeks later, but was dismissive of their concerns according to the group.

I feel weird about the perception of caving into student pressure but I don't see any other solution. All of our current options are bad, the one I advocate appears to be the least bad.

The parade incident was bad. He did not address a group of students that had been trying to get him to respond. A simple "Hey, I have to continue with the parade but let's meet on such and such street after the parade" would have nipped this thing in the bud. If he simply showed compassion and understanding. He did not do that.

I do not believe he is a bad man but he cannot effectively lead after this. The first step out of this mess has to be him resigning. That won't solve racism on our campus, but it is the only logical starting point. If this thing draws out, we are in a very bad spot. Very bad.

It is a matter of time at this point. It's a shame because he always seemed to me like a decent man. But he has not handled this situation properly from the beginning (contrast his leadership on this matter with BowTie's) and he must go. Not really negotiable at this point. Hopefully he will have the grace to leave on his own.
I am planning on upping my donation level actually. It makes me sick reading about all the people who are considering pulling their donations. The team is united and we need to embrace one another and pull together. That is the only way we get out of this mess, by showing compassion and supporting the school that we all love.
This stadium will be a massive upgrade over University Field. Very exciting to see the heights that this program, with this coach, can reach in this new stadium.

I know some people will say that this would have been a great spot to build a new baseball stadium. I think softball deserves it more to be totally honest. Taylor Stadium has received upgrades in 1999, 2012, and 2014. It is a lot better ballpark today than it was just a few years ago. University Field is in pretty poor shape and hasn't seen many upgrades. That program with all of its successes deserves something better.

I am pretty sure Williams, Fairbanks, and Lester will all leave. Pete was quoted as saying if he went in the first 20 rounds he would likely be gone and it wouldn't make a ton of sense for Lester to return. Even if he moved up a few rounds next year he would lose any leverage he would have as a senior who has exhausted his college eligibility. Howard will almost definitely stay. He will just be a junior next year and has a legitimate chance to move up.

With respect to Alec Rash, I am pretty sure he got hurt in early April. I feel bad for the kid. He got hurt his freshman year also and was always in TJ's doghouse when he was healthy because of his erratic control. He will almost certainly sign.

The fact that the Royals drafted him is a little bit concerning. They could have some money to play with. I really hope MD makes it here, especially with our RB situation (questions about Walters, Steward, and Abbington).
I think it is tough for a guy on the job for a little over a month to make a move. Mizzou baseball has had three men coach the program basically since World War II. I think he did a good job recruiting even as a lame duck. Hopefully he can do even better with a legitimate contract.

With an open spot on the staff and my thought that TJ is close to retirement, I hold out a sliver of hope that we can throw some serious cash at Vitello and make him head coach in waiting or something. That would be the ideal situation.
Lester was a 30th round pick out of high school so I wonder where he will go next week. Ryan Howard is a draft eligible sophomore unfortunately (turns 21 before the draft).
Reggie McClain will almost certainly get enough money to leave and Breckin Williams definitely will. Also, both Ryan Howard and Josh Lester are draft eligible as well. Could lose one or both of them.

That being said, I love the freshman class. Credit to TJ for landing those guys and not going JUCO heavy the last couple of years when he has been coaching for an extension. If he is done here, you have to respect the man for continuing to recruit frosh and leaving the next guy with a solid core.
Our RPI is falling rapidly. I think most likely we will miss the tournament unfortunately. The midweek flops are just unforgivable and will cost this team dearly.
Missouri State and Mizzou both have at large chances obviously. SEMO and SLU will only make it to the postseason if they win the auto bids from the OVC and A10 respectively.

Again, with regard to Miles what better options are out there? Montes de Oca is wild, Rash is in the doghouse and is even more erratic, and the other real option Dabney threw two wild pitches in 2/3 of an inning last night (to allow the go ahead run to score) and committed an error. John is a veteran, competes well, and is the one guy outside of our weekend three that is conditioned to be a starter right now.
Well just three days ago we were down 3-0 to Alabama and came back to win. It happens. We looked a lot more interested last night than we did against Air Force, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, or Arkansas-Little Rock. That MSU team is pretty good too.

I don't really get the criticism of John Miles. He isn't starting on the weekend over McClain, Houck, and Fairbanks. He is starting over a bunch of kids that haven't shown that they can consistently throw strikes. Unless you are going to start Schwaab, I think John is the best midweek option.
As a season ticket holder at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field I am actually quite pleased with the renovations. The place looks much, much better than it did in say 2003. Still lower end of the conference, but there is absolutely no way they are going to be building a new stadium in the near future. It is sufficient for what we need, now and in the intermediate future.

Until about a month ago I didn't realize Missou fielded a baseball team. Having them in the SEC is embarrassing.

That's cool. We have to earn our respect. Hasn't been a good athletic year so far. We did not make the greatest first impression.

By the way, you have a picture of Aldon Smith on your signature. Mizzou guy right there. So is Justin Smith since you are a Niners fan. Sad that they came up just short in the big game.

We aren't. Astro is like our ambassador and I believe he wears a welcoming sash at the ballpark. NTTIAWWT.

We are a decent bunch. And we are glad to be in the SEC.
