Welp. So the BOC isn't caving to the demands of students and players for him to go. Season over? Program finished?

I would be willing to bet all of those players will be at practice tomorrow.

Oh, it can get uglier. So far we've seen the student version of this movement. Now that they've got their next hotspot, just wait. The professionals will be there next, to "help." We could end up with physical violence.

It is a matter of time at this point. It's a shame because he always seemed to me like a decent man. But he has not handled this situation properly from the beginning (contrast his leadership on this matter with BowTie's) and he must go. Not really negotiable at this point. Hopefully he will have the grace to leave on his own.

Completely disagree.

The situations, although unfortunate, did not need to reach to his level. They were isolated incidents, that may or may not have happened, and may or may not have been perpetuated by someone stoking racial tensions.

He is the system president, having oversight of several different campuses. 1 of those incidents led to a student being removed, the other 2, if someone was found to have been involved in I am sure would have seen the same fate.

These are campuses with thousands of students though and many other ongoing issues. Planned parenthood and loftin for example. He cannot be there to coddle and nurture at every turn, just because some entitled young brats think they deserve it. In these incidents of wrongdoing, as with most, if the wrongdoers are found they will face discipline. It needs go no further than that though. We don't need reassurance that hey, we shouldn't be saying these words they hurt feelings. You are an adult, about to go out on your own and hopefully take over the reins of this country. Grow the frick up!

Why should he leave again? What has he said or done that was wrong?

The parade incident was bad. He did not address a group of students that had been trying to get him to respond. A simple "Hey, I have to continue with the parade but let's meet on such and such street after the parade" would have nipped this thing in the bud. If he simply showed compassion and understanding. He did not do that.

I do not believe he is a bad man but he cannot effectively lead after this. The first step out of this mess has to be him resigning. That won't solve racism on our campus, but it is the only logical starting point. If this thing draws out, we are in a very bad spot. Very bad.

I think things will get worse if Wolfe resigns.

Have you watched the video?

Do you know what you are talking about?

LINK

Here is the video, watch that and then attempt to speak on that. Do you think anyone was having a logical conversation with them afterwards?

Do you know what they are referring to by "don't give them your power" is? It means these mother frickers are in the face of people there to watch a parade trying to confront them. Peaceful protest my arse.

Anyone who would have engaged these people would have been writing a death sentence.

"He should have discussed with them" Wow...

Never really expected him to. I'd be surprised if he does over this. Something would have to really go south on how he handles things.

I was there at the parade. I am as conflicted and troubled by it now as I was then. The one constant thing I have felt is that he should have found a way to address them. He got a reprieve and met with them weeks later, but was dismissive of their concerns according to the group.

I feel weird about the perception of caving into student pressure but I don't see any other solution. All of our current options are bad, the one I advocate appears to be the least bad.
