Everyone knows Bama only really has one loss this season. And, the loss to Tennessee is just because Bama didn't take them seriously.
Basically, Alabama is undefeated and the CFP committee knew this. Be thankful that you have a huge brand in the SEC that can overcome some issues and still be ranked so highly with a chance to win it all.
If Georgia had two losses, they likely wouldn't be in the Top 10, which would be appropriate because it's Georgia.
Alabama will always represent the SEC well and that reflects favorably on all teams in the SEC.

That's it. People want Alabama to do well because it makes them feel good to see Alabama doing well. Without Alabama in the discussion, highly ranked, and playing for it all, what is the point of college football at all?
Ask any regular fan of just about any team in the nation which team they would want, other than their own, to be national champions any particular year and 99% of them are going to pick Alabama.
Alabama is truly beloved by college football purists.
