Devastating. Prayers for the families of both kids. UGA has cancelled classes for today.

The young woman that was murdered was a student at Augusta University and it happened in the middle of the day. Still no suspect in custody

Got the fricking piece of shite who did this and of course he's not a US citizen

I don't want to turn this thread political, but frick this administration and their incompetence in regards to illegal migration.

Poor girl was trying to call 911 and the human scum stopped her. Hope he gets fast tracked to the death penalty. Not motive, crime of opportunity per police chief.

When it's someone close to the victim its usually a pretty quick bust. For something random like this, I'm amazed, and glad, they tracked him down this fast. I hope he's murdered in prison, assuming he is actually the guilty party.

Laken Riley 22yo Augusta U nursing student. So promising, it’s just sickening.

The apartment they converged on to make the arrest is down south milledge by the loop where a lot of foreign students live. Imagine he's that.

This as y’all can imagine has rocked the community. Particularly because such a rare occurrence (thankfully).

My wife and i are out there either running or exercising our dogs almost every day. In fact my wife was on the way over there Thursday am but something came up at work.

I am always running on those trails and come across young women out there running alone. On the one hand you hate to be paranoid when the ultimate risk is very small, but on the other hand Ive often found myself thinking it would be easy for a predator back there.

Yeah pretty impressive until you realize how many cameras are around and how stupid this fricking guy is.

I mean why kill the poor girl? She probably didn't have any money, he wasn't charged with anything rape related. Just hiding out along a trail waiting to murder someone at 530 in the morning? Sick frick.

My daughter graduated last spring, lived right accross the street on Milledge from where they arrested the guy. She would run frequently around Herrick lake. And to top it off, she's a med student at Medical College of Georgia. The pictures of this young woman with her white coat on send chills down my spine. Such a sad story.

Multiple DHS sources confirm the suspect in UGA student, Laken Riley’s murder—José Antonio Ibarra is here illegally from Venezuela. CBP documents show he crossed in September of 2022 into El Paso, Texas and was released due to lack of detention space.

The 26 year old from Venezuela was arrested today by ICE-ERO Atlanta. He is being charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call and concealing the death of another— According to UGA Police Chief Jeffrey L. Clark.

Officials say Riley went for a run on the University of Georgia's Athens campus yesterday and was later found dead

What a fricking disgrace. Lose a promising young American due to this fricking animal waltzing into the country illegally. I hope her parents sue the frick out of Clarke County for the sanctuary city bullshite.

Kemp needs to propose "Laken's Law" where anyone found aiding and abetting an illegal immigrant who then commits a crime is also charge with that same crime. Similar to RICO.

Mayors of sanctuary cities need to be able to be personally held liable anytime one of these subhuman pieces of shite does this. That would quickly put a stop to a lot of this stuff. If the mayor of Athens was facing a 25 year prison sentence because a precious illegal committed a violent crime, the next mayor would think twice about declaring it a sanctuary city.

dawgfan92834656890 and his cohorts will be quiet for a while. And if he/they/she/& does pipe up, he'll say brown people get murdered every day and nobody cares, and then he'll say why are we allowed to talk about this?

I see that this story has been picked up by the national media. Even something in the nyt. You hate to have to use a tragedy to underscore a point, but it is an absolute fact if the elites bothered to enforce immigration laws this young lady would still be alive and would have a long life to look forward to. Unfortunately it takes horrible stuff like this to get people to wake the frick up.

True or False, Laken would be alive today if this guy wasn’t in the country illegally

It’s not “injecting politics” into this….this is a huge political issue and it cost a 22 year old Deans List student her life for absolutely no reason.

You realize she'd still be alive if the politicians leading our country hadn't failed her?
