That Texas job has been open 3 times in the last 8 years and has been filled with Charlie Strong, Tom Herman and Steve Sarkesian. That's all you need to know about how good this job it is.
Looks like TA and TA-North are both down. They are run from the same servers....what a day to not be prepared. :spank:

re: Question for Tennessee Fans

It was a great game. Vol fans were great, everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and seemed to enjoy themselves. Aggie fans seemed to really like the Vol fans. Both teams and fan bases seem to have a lot respect for one another.

Game is over...let's both heal up, remember the Alamo, have a beer, and move on from any gloating.

re: What Did You Guys Do To TCU

A few of my thoughts on the hate from TCU and the other little sisters of tu/OU:

1. About half the TCU/Baylor fans I know owned at least one tu jersey back in the 1990's and late 2000's when their teams sucked so bad. They learned to hate A&M as tee shirt horn fans when their teams sucked for so long.

2. The Big 12-2-2+1+1 didn't add TCU in response to A&M's departure. They added West Virginia when A&M left and added TCU when Mizzou announced their departure.

3. There didn't used to be much of a difference in size or academics between A&M and the other SWC schools not named tu until A&M started growing and progressing in the 1970's. Many of the older alumni of the little schools saw an equal suddenly become much larger and much more respected on a national basis. That didn't/doesn't sit well with them.

4.Leaving the Big??? and going to the SEC has removed the shadow of tu over A&M and shined a light on our stature (both academic and athletic) to those outside of Texas that really never knew A&M as a small "country" school or ever heard an Aggie joke.

5. Aggies act like they think they are special and are quick to enlist the help of the Aggie Network which is powerful. This bothers a lot of people.
What???? It was the Southwest Conference...if you weren't on probation then you weren't trying.

So that replacement candidates will know they will get paid handsomely if the come to A&M and win...and maybe even if they sort of win. Kind of the same reason you tip the valet at both ends when you're rich and don't want your Mazerati damaged. Kind of hard to appreciate the concept if you're not rich.

I was amazed that we could spend $80,000,000 on an equestrian facility until I realized it housed BOTH the equestrian team and a reproduction pavilion for the theriogenology team. Reproduction teams don't cum cheap.

The Reproduction Pavilion houses equipment and laboratory space dedicated to the internationally-renown equine theriogenology team. .

re: Your Aggie Dirty Secret?

My dirty little secret: I went to tu my freshman year and frogged in.
Bob Bullock that pulled all the strings....not Ann Richards. Folks outside Texas have an understandably difficult time understanding the governor of Texas has very limited power as compared to the Lieutenant Governor. It's a response to reconstruction.....governor has very little power and the legislature only meets once every two years and only for sixty days. Lieutenant governor sets the agenda of the legislature....so nothing gets debated without the lieutenant governor's blessing. And there is limited time to pass any laws.....so few debated let alone get passed unless there is a real consensus they are needed.
Worst I've ever been screwed in the business world was by two fellow Aggies I was trying to help. And, both were old army. I of course still love the place but got over the "we're special" a long time ago.

Actually, I think the players voted on whether he should play.
My understanding was that it takes our LSU friends so long to get down I-10 because they are afraid to pass.
Can we just have a Missouri Compromise and be done with it?

Better question for the OP is whether Briles will survive keeping the kid on his roster that was convicted of rape yesterday. Yes......he was de-listed from the roster within seconds of the jury's verdict. Boise kicks him off the team for a sexual assault....declines to recommend his transfer......Briles welcomes the guy.....he soon is indicted for rape in Waco.....the athletic program and university (along with Waco media) keep it under wraps. Kid doesn't play but is listed on the roster and the DC hypes him this Summer. Then the trial (to the surprise of the media outside Waco) starts this week and the kid was convicted yesterday.

Baylor showing FSU how it's done. What also comes out in the trial is the disgusting treatment by the university of the victim....who was also an athlete. Looks very likely that a major Title IX investigation is going to get underway at Baylor. Briles very much at risk. The last thing in e world that OP should be thinking about is Sumlin. He will be lucky if both his head coach and president (Ken Starr) survive this disgusting fiasco.

You can debate if Bama would have won more, but there is no debate whether A&M could have won as much with AJ. Always keeping in mind that Manziel was a red shirt freshman.

It absolutely feels different when all members are pretty much treated as equals, sharing is equal and continued membership isn't coerced. I'll be the first to acknowledge that A&M was one of the three schools to demand/accept a greater portion of revenue to stay in the Big12.......but that always felt dirty. It feels like a family when Vandy gets the same conference pay out as Bama. $$$ or lack of $$$ isn't used as a significant competitive advantage. I absolutely love the fact that Vandy will soon be making more than our friends in Austin.

It also helps that many schools are the single representative of their state in the country's most respected conference......and that position is protected by its members. So yes.....it feels natural to root for others schools against non-members.
When I was much younger with a much stronger Texas accent, I once asked this cute little waitress in Canada if I could have some ice with my coke. The waitress looked surprised and made me ask for "ice" three more times before she ran and got her manager who threatened to kick me out of the place if I didn't quit sexually harassing his waitress. True story.
Geebus.....Seriously????

Rick Perry wouldn't even win a majority of Aggie votes against any other conservative candidate that can fog a mirror. I'm not sure he could even be elected dog catcher in College Station after the way he treated President Loftin.
