Washington Spirit and Olympic gold medalist for Team USA, Croix Bethune, will miss the rest of the 2024 season after she tore her meniscus throwing out the ceremonial first pitch for the Washington Nationals on Aug. 28...
quote:

"She had a problem making the first pitch in the baseball game," Spirit coach Jonatan Giráldez said after the match, per the Associated Press. "She is not going to be available this season. It is part of life. You have to keep going."

Sheeeesh. Someone warn somebody next time. That looked horrific - made me cringe. I could almost hear it coming apart. Sounded like chicken bones being torn apart in the bathtub under water. My gosh how did she even walk after that, much less smile? Her pain threshold must be enormous. God bless the precious little thing. Let's hope the surgeons can put her back together and not have to amputate. And let's hope they do amputate Larry's shitty choice of stories on this once magnificent website. Frickin' Larry posting that crapola to the news feed. WTF

Didn't see anything happen. No reaction or limp or anything. I'm guessing the injury occurred later, up in the club on the dance floor.

Coach's fault. Should've pulled her before that first pitch.

If it had been the Washington Redskins' new QB Jayden Daniels, this would be a story.

Otherwise, nah.
