Over 24 hours ago a giant sinkhole opened up between a soccer and football first at Gordon F. Memorial Park in Alton, Illinois... Per Audacy...
quote:

Michael Haines, with the City of Alton Parks and Recreation Department says the hole began opening up in the early morning hours and it was caused by a mine collapse deep underground.

"I think it started around 6:30 a.m. this morning at the surface, it gave entirely way around 8:30 a.m," said Haines.

New Frontier, a mining company, was able to communicate with someone at the surface level to make sure the field was clear at the time. There have been no reported injuries.

"Luckily, we didn't have anything going on at that time of the day out here at the soccer fields either," said Haines.

I worked in an oil field in Louisiana that was going into tertiary recovery with CO2 and some plugs failed and had sinkholes everywhere and killed all kinds of animals

Miners do not like soccer. Everywhere, deep down inside. they are laughing silently.

Isn't soccer already synonymous with giant, gaping holes?
