Going to help someone she knows? Also, (unless you get a direct hit) you get shocked by the voltage difference that exists from the strike and radiates outward across the ground. That voltage between your feet is a significant part of the shock to you. If your feet are close together, or you happen to be on one foot, you get less of a jolt.

Definitely not fake. That is incredible footage.

I spend a lot of time above treeline and I gotta say, lightening strikes scare the fricking shite out of me. I can take wild animals, avis, rockslide...it all seems managable and much less random than a fatal strike.
