With LSU and Bama dominating the SEC this year it's making for other games in the conference to be not as appealing or exciting to watch, and the TV ratings are showing it. According to the Birmingham News...
quote:

"Through seven games, SEC games on CBS have drawn a 3.3 national household rating, which is down 18 percent from this time in 2010. CBS games this year have been decided by an average of 23 points, up from 15 points through seven games in 2010. Only two CBS games in 2011 have been decided by less than three touchdowns."

Word on the street is CBS may replace Verne Lundquist with Ashton Kutcher.

there's another problem. . .games are completely over-run by commercials. . .it took 1 hr to play the first 18 MINUTES in the AU game . . .between the ridiculous delays, courtesy of CBS, and the non-stop artificial, piped-in enthusiasm, courtesy of LSU, games are getting harder and harder to enjoy . . .the length of the game kills outside viewers and the new atmosphere ain't doing much for the inside viewing (imho)

I blame Gary Danielson's commentary for scaring all the viewers away...

Seeing that the ratings are down this year and CBS has been broadcasting LSU games, maybe they should broadcast other games and leave LSU games at 7 pm.

November 5th is Guy Fawkes Day. THIS time, the men in Red are going to get blown away.

so many teams with talent but not depth have been hit with devastating injuries - i.e. Florida, Tennessee. Other teams are rebuilding, eg auburn. and LSU and Bama are just so far superior to the whole conference. Blip on the radar screen this year. Next year you'll see more parity.
