Multiple sources are reporting that former Tennessee head coach and current Alabama intern Butch Jones is interested in the head coaching position at Maryland.

Maryland officially fired DJ Durkin on Wednesday night. Per KnoxNews.com:

Former Tennessee coach Butch Jones has interest in the head coach opening at Maryland, TerrapinSportsReport.com reported Thursday, citing a source close to Jones.

Matt Canada is serving as Maryland's interim coach. Maryland fired DJ Durkin on Wednesday, one day after reinstating him. Durkin had been on paid administrative leave since Aug. 11.
