While appearing on Tuesday's McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning (h/t On3), Paul Finebaum said he thought the SEC did a "great job" accommodating everyone as well as possible, however, he thinks three programs got the "short end of the stick" with their 2024 SEC opponents...
quote:

"The Mississippi schools [Ole Miss and Mississippi State] missing out on Alabama was a big deal because we all know how important it is if you’re in Starkville or Oxford when Alabama comes in," Finebaum said. "South Carolina, probably, too,” Finebaum said. "I don’t have the schedule in front of me but I think they lost on three of their biggest SEC East rivals."

He's not wrong. South Carolina gets Missouri and A&M. But miss UGA/Florida/Tenn. Stupid.

Both MS schools are glad to no longer have Bama as a permanent opponent.

Wrong. Maybe Ole Miss is glad, but Bama-MS State is a game that should be preserved.

Finebaum's rival was He-Man back when he lived on Eternia.

Nobody cares about the MS or SC schools. Those are the first ones we dump.

Auburn currently has losing streaks to all 3 schools

It would be easy to drop Auburn. The SEC already has the most important school in Alabama.
