On Sunday morning's SportsCenter, ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum said former Crimson Tide coach Kirby Smart has turned Georgia into a comparable juggernaut aka the "New Alabama"...
quote:

"In many ways, Georgia is the new Alabama," Finebaum said. "Why is that so? Well, for obvious reasons. They look like the best Alabama teams that Nick Saban had back maybe a couple of years ago when Kirby Smart was his defensive coordinator."

Put it this way if it weren't for Nick Saban no one outside of the state of Alabama would have ever heard of Paul finebaum. So if there's one thing I do blame Saban for it's exposing this idiot to the world.

Most of the Dawg fans are still too grounded to be a-hole gumps.

interpreted: Georgia has finally spent more recruiting money to "amateur" players than the Alabama run of paying millions per year to THEIR players. That is all any of the Alabama Georgia BS is...

I mean they had the best team last year and arguably do this year too (through 2-3 weeks) but Jesus, let ‘em get another 5-6 years under their belt of competing for NCs.
Bama is still on a historic run. Period.

Wasn't Ohio State supposed to be the new Alabama when they won in 2014? Also, wasn't Clemson taking over when they won in 2016 and 2018? Now it's Georgia that is taking over, OK, sure! The only constant throughout the last 15 years is Alabama.

UGA has had a reputation for being soft and chokers but lose that reputation after coming through one time? Color me skeptical. I think this is all maneuvering to set a “mulligan” narrative if UGA beats Alabama.
