Nick Saban Talks About Being Interested In Texas Job Rumors
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
While in Pensacola, Fla. on Tuesday, Alabama head coach Nick Saban addressed the rumors that he was interested in the Texas head coaching position a couple years ago left open by Mack Brown and eventually taken by Charlie Strong. Apparently his new book talks about his agent's discussions with the Longhorns.
quote:

“I have an agent (Jimmy Sexton), which most coaches have, and when somebody is interested in you, they call your agent, which they did,” Saban said Tuesday night at the field house at the University of West Florida. “The agent calls you, and you tell the agent ‘I’m interested’ or ‘I’m not interested.’ So (Sexton) called me about 15 times about Texas, and every time he called I said I’m not interested in talking to them, and I never will be. That’s the story. He did his job, I did my job.”

There's an expression in this country for almost taking a job. It's called "Not taking the job." Troll on, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter.

Alabama wouldn't have paid off nick sabans house if he wasn't interested in Texas.

Exactly. Nick won't last more than 4 seasons at Bama before he's off chasing more money and a different challenge.

What? I'm sorry, did you say "entering his 9th season at Alabama"? Uhhhh...Well, never mind I guess.

LOL Thats what he said at MSU and LSU and Miami. So in other words he was real close to taking the Texas job.

Riiiiight. Just like you were not interested in Alabama while in Miami huh nick? Texas has more money than you can shake a stick at. The fact Mack brown was drug to the curb kicking and screaming is what turned nick off to that circus act.
