Bielema Told Dolphins He Wanted To Draft Russell Wilson In 2012
Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports
Back in 2012, then Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema interviewed to be the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. According to ESPN.com, he told the Dolphins he would win them a Super Bowl within five years if he could draft Russell Wilson in the 2nd round.
quote:

“They all looked at me like, ‘You can’t say that. That’s the difference between college and pro. He’s undersized. He can’t throw.’ I was like, ‘OK, all right,’ and I honestly, that day, kind of pulled myself out of it.”
Obviously they thought he was kind of crazy. Or was he?

I really like Russell Wilson.....but having that defense to cover your arse makes a big difference. He threw 4 interceptions in the NFC championship and still won because he had the defense to pull his arse outta the fire

Isn't the guy he told that to working for the Saints now?

Dolphins had a top defense this year plus actually good WRs. What could Wilson do with Hartline as his worst receiver? Guy would have Landry as a great possession receiver and Wallace as his deep threat receiver.
