Texas A&M LB Darian Claiborne was arrested on Dec. 22 after a routine traffic stop resulted in some troubling discoveries. According to TMZ...
quote:

The cops searched the car and found a "red plastic Hershey's kiss ornament" in the center console ... and inside, it contained a small bag of weed and 5 white and blue capsules.

According to the report, Claiborne said the pills were Adderall that his roommate had given him to help cram for finals. Claiborne did not have a prescription.

The cop says he also found a partially smoked blunt located in a shoe found on the floorboard of the car."
Claiborne, 19, was promptly arrested and jailed for possession of a dangerous drug and marijuana possession. He was released shortly thereafter on a $6,000 bond.

Wonder why they searched the car.

Possibly because they were smoking weed in the car, or had previous to the stop, evidenced by the "partially smoked blunt" also found in the ornament.

I hate the BS "possession of a dangerous drug" charge. Tylenol is dangerous if you pop 12 of them. You can't blame the guy for taking Adderall to study. It helps immensely.

I wonder why they stopped the car? What is a" routine" traffic stop? For police pulling over any vehicle is never routine. There is always a risk involved for the officers. The operator/passenger could be violent criminals, doped up, etc, etc.
