The only real threat I'm concerned about? Some Florida player taking a cheap shot at Joe to take him out of the game. I hope LSU assigns someone to shadow Joe every moment he's on that field.

Last guy that tried that it didn’t end up so well for him or his team as Burrow carved them up. See UCF

Mathieu got himself kicked off the team cause he couldn't lay off the weed while Simmons didn't have any suspensions yet you'd think it was the opposite with the way this board drools over the honeybadger. What gives?

Tyran made some poor decisions when young and owned up to that. Tyran actually loves and still represents LSU. Simmons doesn’t seem to care about LSU and came here because of his god father and having to play one year of college ball before going pro.
Have time for that foolishness kind of shows where his focus has been. Has the physical tools to great, but if the focus and drive aren’t there then it doesn’t matter.

He won’t be a high round draft pick if he can’t stay on the field. Have to be able to show what he can do and it’s his last year.

He told Jordy and T-Bob that this defense will be fixed here shortly. He said he couldn’t go into it but he talked to somebody inside the program and he said he will leave it at that. I wonder what Dave Aranda has up his sleeve?

Booger gives decent analysis. Have to believe he knows something.

Well, can’t break the sack record if you aren’t on the field. Hope he comes back healthy soon.

Message When will we see Emery more by Dale Doubak Guy looks so good. Is it grades

When he stops trying to get the ball to the outside so much, improves pass protection, and convinces coaches he will hold onto the ball I guess. He will get his carries but he will have to prove he can do those three things to overtake CEH. Davis Price will be the second back behind CEH. Davis price is physical, explosive, and gets downhill in a hurry. Very decisive and isn’t trying to get to the outside all the time which young backs tend to do.

He doesn’t have the leg strength.

Agree. You have to be able to comfortably kick 50+ on a regular basis. He is very accurate but lacks that consistent strength from 50+.

I want to be #1 after the END of the season.

Agree. It doesn’t matter where we are ranked right now. It matters that we are in the top four at the end of the season and the last team standing after the playoffs.

someone posted his 40 time in HS a while back and it was in the high 4.3s
he looks like a high 4.5 low 4.6

CEH is slow period. That being said, it was the right call to play the vets last night. CEH didn’t fumble the ball, he didn’t dance in the hole, he put his head down and got tough yards. The last thing you want is young talented back trying to do too much in a crazy atmosphere in only his second college game. One turnover or losing yards trying to do too much can change the outcome of a game like that.

We played a team that Kirk and other analyst had as the top 4 teams to make the playoffs. We played a legit QB wether you feel that way or not, that kid can ball. We now understand what our weaknesses are and what we need to fix. We saw a legit top 10 team last night and we walked away with a W! We have an Offense baws!!!!!!!!

Agree. That’s a legit good team we beat in there house.

re: Enough with the Fulton hate

Fulton locked down a 6’6 receiver most of the game. He had a few tough plays and a few penalties (some questionable imo),but those are elite talent receivers as well. They kept feeding Duvernay and matching him upon LBs, safeties, and the nickel. Vincent had a rough game.
CEH is slow but he didn’t dance around the hole losing yards and he didn’t fumble. In big games that experience counts. Young backs sometimes try to do to much and hurt the team. Clyde was very solid overall. Emery TDP will get opportunities over the next several games.
I think Burrow will show he’s a better passer. Ehlinger can pass also but may be a bit better runner.

If we beat Texas, will LSU football finally get the respect they deserve by FighterTiger03 Yes... shows we can live up to the hype, and win in an okay type of loud stadium. LSU by 2 Touchdowns

Respect is earned. We had a very good season last year and the potential to have a special season this year. Overall the last few years we can’t say we’ve done enough to be considered elite and deserve the respect of an “elite” team.

This kinda shite makes me nervous. I hope we dominate those clowns, but being the favorite and overconfident is a little scary after one cupcake game.

In the past this would make me nervous. It doesn’t this time. These guys are talented, focused, and locked in. They now have the QB and scheme to get things done. I don’t have a problem with it.
quote:

The new found passing competence is likely overwhelmingly in large part due to Joe Burrow. Joe Brady may very well turn out to be a great coach, let’s hope he does, but good QB’s always make coaches look like geniuses. Before Tom Brady saved his career, Belichick was just another coach with a personality disorder who got fired in Cleveland (along with his defensive coordinator Nick Saban). Let’s give the credit where it is most likely due - Mr. Burrow.

Play calling and versatility are allowing Burrow to fully utilize his talent unlike last year. Credit Brady and Ensminger for making the right offensive changes, and credit Burrow and the offense for working hard and being ready for it.
quote:

1. Tom Herman is a big game coach and loves to be the underdog. They'll be locked in and ready to go.

2. Their defense was physical at the line of scrimmage.

3. Ehlinger is good but overrated. He only threw for 169yds and I don't think Texas had a play that went over 15yds all night.

4. UGA apathy won Texas the game

I know, it's an excuse, but anyone watching could tell the Bulldogs were 100% checked out. The team's season was over after the SEC championship. It's not the Longhorn's fault that we weren't ready, but it's the truth. Also keep in mind that Texas only scored 18 points offenisvely. In addition, we were missing 4 starters on defense. Their other points came from turnovers and our punter accidentally taking a knee.

Agree. Give Texas credit for coming to play and winning, but Georgia clearly didn’t want to be there and were lethargic.
quote:

Y’all need to pump the breaks. Last night was amazing to watch! But you have to remember we beat a team that had no business being on that field with us. Next week will be a different story. We might have more overall talent but don’t ever underestimate a highly motivated team at home. It will be a WAR.

Agree in the send that Texas is not going to just roll over because we learned pass the ball. That being said, I love what I saw and this team can be special. Also Georgia Southern is a triple option team that won 10+ games last year along with a bowl game. Those offenses are very difficult to defend and LSU completely shut them down. Divinity, Saahdiq Charles, and some of main guys didn’t even play yesterday. That’s saying something.

They are doing that against an undersized defensive line. They wouldn’t be able to do it against us and that’s the reason why we were not able to do it against Bama

Agree. Thats great against s. florida but not the elite. That offense will only take them so far. Want to be in the post season you must a solid passing attack.
