The contract is with the city. Each team gets a flat fee plus travel expenses and they split the gate.

That would have been cool with me and many fans but I think they wanted to keep the "neutral cocktail party" theme which is fine by me also.
Mercedes Benz is a beautiful modern stadium and a short drive for most Georgia fans so I'm sure we will be well represented.
Goooooo Dawgs!!

Jacksonville is pretty much the only thing I disagree with Kirby about. It's annoying that he's so hellbent on moving it out of jacksonville sipmly to get 1 additional recruiting weekend over a 2-year time span.

To each their own, but is the idea of Florida coming to Sanford Stadium really that awesome and amazing? They'll probably still suck that year and won't bring a lot of fans andit will basically feel like everytime that Auburn has come to Sanford Stadium in the last 10 years. This year's Auburn game was a complete snoozefest and not much of an atmosphere.

Also, I've spent plenty of time in Gainesville. The Oaks Mall is still kicking and they have a cool sinkhole that you can walk to the bottom of. Other than that, if I'm paying money for a game trip to Florida, why the hell wouldn't I rather to to Tampa?

I'm just glad that 2027 isn't going to that shithole Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

I guess the Athletic department ultimately makes the decision. It sounds like Jacksonville will ante up on the payout to the schools for the game and it's a no brainer for the ADs. Still would like to see Ga-Fl without driving 6 hours to Jacksonville from Atlanta. Just seems like it would greatly benefit the local Athens economy. As it stands we only have 3 or 4 marquee home games and this would be another one every other year. I went in 2018 and there were a lot of empty seats. I'm sure the game technically sells out but be interested to see how many empty seats there are for the game.

Looks like we were given 44 million reasons to return to Jax.

Barf

There’s nothing beautiful about any of the sanitized corporate big box nfl stadiums. And you literally just regurgitated the name of a corporation just like they want you to. So disgusting and depressing.

It was a mistake to ever move GA FL to a “neutral” site to begin with.

Yep, and our coach makes no bones about the fact that it's not good for Georgia football. Take that in conjunction with the GT game and we're losing a home game per year. Our fans don't care. They'll gladly sacrifice success for "tradition".
