Correct. Though Brooks Austin makes a good point, if they were to play on campus, Kirby may not let them ever go back to neutral site. Kirby has always been anti-Jax.

yah, this is all politics and big business. Kirby would never let it go back to Jax. I'm sure the city of Jax has some deal brokered for it to stay in Jax after 2027 or they never would have agreed to fund that billion dollar stadium. The Jax and Golden isle area I think rely on the revenue that game brings in as well. Still last time I went in 2018 there were at least 10-15k empty seats. At the hotel on Amelia island people were giving away tickets and said they were going to watch the game at the hotel pool bar. The main Ga fans that want to keep it there live in South Ga/Savannah or want an excuse for a November beach trip. I'm sure the game in the Benz will be packed though and Florida fans would probably rather have it at the Benz both years. There are tons of Florida alum in the Atlanta area. There's almost always going to be a chance to go to a bowl or playoff game at the end of the year. Not a fan of the game staying Jax ,but it's probably there for at least another 10 years after 2027.

not necessarily. There are others like myself that simply acknowledge and enjoy history and what made the SEC what it is/was. UGA/UF should be played in Jacksonville, period. Where a fan lives or what they do on Wednesday-Friday of that week is irrelevant.

I am not down there and 100% want to keep it in Jacksonville...very few traditions alive in CFB and I want to keep as many as possible

In Amelia RN. I support staying here for cocktail but the ATL/Tampa is crap. Should have done home/home those two years.

Fully agree. From a UGA standpoint it would give us a chance to avenge 94/95. After '27 we likely won't ever do a H/H again with them. We sucked back then so we got shellacked in Athens in one of our worst ever home losses and haven' won in gainesville since the early 30s before the series moved to jacksonville. With all the demons kirby has exercised for us as a program, it would have been majorly sweet to make up for both of those games.
Then from a personal standpoint it would have been nice to check out a new venue and cross another off the list. I'm sure there are many many UGA fans that have the desire to see every SEC stadium but won' ever get the opportunity to other than one single chance in 2027. Which is now off the table. Sure that's minor but still.

Oh I know. At this point they aren't even attempting to hide it either, in napier's comments he specifically mentioned all the revenue that would be generated as the reason for it. It wasn't that long ago that they'd hem and haw and at least beat around the bush but now they're flat out sayin "yeah we're getting paid a shitton for this, that's why it's in 2 pro stadiums no one wants instead of home/home".

The same way both schools make more money by it being in Jacksonville instead of home/home...the people in charge of hosting the game are going to pay out the arse an exorbitant amount of money to both schools in exchange for being able to host the game.
Scenario 1: UGA (and uf) makes whatever they normally make for a regular home game, one time. The other year the game is an away game.
Scenario 2: UGA (and uf) makes a ridiculous amount of money in both years to go play in a pro stadium

I have no idea who is actually paying the money. I would think it's the city more so than the stadium. Tampa (and jacksonville) know that they are going to draw probably ~$150K fans to town that are going to buy hotels, food, alcohol, play golf, go to bars, and just spend a lot of money in general over the course of at least 2 or potentially 3-4 days in their city.

Maybe Athens and Gainseville need to put a SPLOST amendment on the ballot to pay the schools to play the rivalry game in their home towns and draw the same level of economic activity. They jam much more ridiculous shite into those SPLOST programs.
