Back in the 60's you had a woman who did pro football who came from a sports family that was good. Over time she was replaced by looks over knowledge (the Phyllis George era) just the way news anchors went from real reporters to folks that looked good on TV.
TV ruined the careers of folks who knew but were less attractive the same way MTV killed music as substance was replaced by looks and flashy productions.
