I think for me big question is does Stetson come back? I would think the answer is no. He has already spent 4 years at UGA and can go out a winner. Still he could come back and improve. I don't think he will be an NFL prospect at any point but I guess ultimately the decision is his if he wants to pursue another degree and play another year.

quote:that’s intriguing that has me wondering who in the world would transfer? Burton gets plenty of playing time , MRJS- if he can be healthy will be a target and shouldn’t Leave I’d think, Washington I could see leaving, Jackson is graduating right?, mcConkey isn’t going anywhere I’d believe who else? I’m Hoping Pickens Comes back I don’t see Mitchell leaving either?

Why wouldn't he come back? What's the alternative? Why would you wanna start on some type of non CFB career when you have a year left and could probably make some very good NIL cash?

Just an educated guess. I doubt any starters will leave unless its for the draft. So that narrows it down to Ratledge, Broderick Jones, and Mims if we are talking about a guy that will hurt to lose.
Mims is struggling to move up on the depth chart apparently so maybe he wants out

Apparently coaches might tell him he's not the guy for 2022. So that leaves us with JT, Brock, or Gunner

The fact that he said it would be a gut punch makes me think it will be either Mims or Ratledge.

Tate loves UGA to death. I can't see him leaving unless he is really struggling with his injury

I heard a snippet from an interview might’ve been GMA but they asked him what his plans were and he said he plans to be playing football again next season.

Stock will be high coming off a NC.
I'm not sure any Juniors stick around on defense and can't blame them.
We'll probably set a CFB record for players taken in the '22 NFL draft
(6 round modern era)
SoFl hinted that at least one had indicated they would be back. Many speculated that it might be Nolan Smith, which would be a huge return. Almost any Junior on defense returning would be huge, though.

The way I see it, O line next year is L to R
Jones, competition, Van Pran, Ratledge, McClendon.
I see no reason why a very talented Mims can’t grab a guard spot while he improves and take over at RT when McClendon leaves after next year.

Been thinking about this, too. If he has an interest in coaching I think he could come back as a grad asst. and backup. He gets coaching experience, helps our younger QBs and if we get i an injury jam could step in. Just spitballing, but it seems logical in my twisted and bent mind.

We have a serial down voter on here...and I can't imagine why somebody would down vote this post.
It would not surprise me one bit to see him back. I hope somebody can beat him out, but I also hope somebody can beat everybody else out, too. It means we are getting better players.

quote:If he comes back would be hard to imagine he wouldn't be the starter based on what Kirby has shown. Either way we need be developing other qb's. Generally Kirby doesn't like qb's sharing snaps so I don't know how that would work itself out. If Stetson comes back it's likely Beck, Brock, and JT transfer. Hard to imagine he loses his starting role after winning a NC. But on a different subject about Stetson, he has guts. He really showed grit after giving up that fumble and then coming back and leading 2 TD drives. Big part of QB is confidence and he certainly has it.

How true are these rumors that we could possibly be getting Caleb Williams?

I understand what you are saying, and it definitely has merit. I think if the coaches said you are a GA first we want to help you launch a career that might smooth everything.
That said, there are worse things than to have a QB with National Championship experience under his belt.
He would have a very experienced offensive players around him.
quote:I hate to speculate...but I kind of look for them to transfer, anyway. Just a guess. If they do, we could possibly have BVG or Gunnar, (whichever wins the job) be the starter with Bennett as a coach/backup. Or if Bennett goes, too a portal guy. I don't necessarily want a portal guy because it infers he will be a starter, and that could cause some friction in the QB room.
If Stetson comes back it's likely Beck, Brock, and JT transfer.
Again. Just my opinion and your opinion is every bit as valid in mine. I am mainly thinking out loud.

That has USC written all over it. Both their QB's transferred out opening the door for williams

Williams is trending heavily to follow Riley to Southern Cal, IIRC
