Worst game I've seen Georgia play since 2019 South Carolina game. Lost line of scrimmage on both sides, poor tackling, poor blocking, poor passing. We were lucky to win.

Stoops plan vs Kirby is the same very year…
Grind the clock, make it ugly and maybe just maybe they get a chance like they did tonight to walk off a FG

Getting outrushed by Kentucky is never not at least somewhat concerning. Their running backs averaged almost 5 yards per carry even though we had no respect for their passing game, and our running backs averaged less than 4 yards per carry even though they had to respect our running game.
It was just a weird game. We are just lucky they had such a shitty passing game.

Bobo seemed to resort to his Mark Richt days. The defense were sending six, so forget about playing our game that Monken left us and tighten the front to rn the A gap. Sometimes running into the blitz works but not when you do it repetitively. Not a good night for Bobo.

Dawgs are not as bad as this game, but just don't have the players like Bowers, McConkey and the other 40 plus players drafted in last three years. I have faith in Kirby to fix a lot of last night, but beware of what's ahead. Kirby is always going to have a very good defense, but the offense is coached by another bunch.

A bad, conservative plan executed very poorly.

Lot of tickytacky bs too.

They sold out to stop the run and short pass game. KY also tackled pretty good in space. Bobo dialed up more intermediate passes, but Beck wasn’t feeling it. I bet when you watch film you will see a lot of those passes were there.

9 penalties for 85 yards and at least 2 of those bailed KY out on 3rd down. That is the most unUGA stat.

Basically this team is not as good as our championship level teams.
1. Bobo is not as good at OC as Monken. Bobo simply doesn't have the instinct to call the right play at the right time when the going gets tough. When your OL is getting whipped, you have to find creative ways open up receivers and run outside with run/pass options.
2. Receivers: our receivers are not as good as previous teams. The OL for the most part gave Beck plenty of time to pass but too often he couldn't find an open receiver. We are missing McConkie big time. Bell is our best receiver but he's not involved often enough.
3. TEs: yes, we are missing Brock Bowers. Our current TEs aren't blocking well which is one reason why the run blocking was not good.
4. RBs: our running backs aren't as good as our previous teams. Etienne is a decent receiver out of the backfield but he runs too upright to get the tough yards needed to sustain drives. We need a Todd Gurley, Nick Chubb or Sony Michel level running back.
5. OL: our offensive line did a good job in pass protection but were getting whipped in run blocking on most downs. We need an OL that can run block.
6. DL: our defensive line was getting whipped the entire game as Kentucky repeatedly drove down the field into FG range keeping our offense off the field.
7. QB: Beck did not have a good game missing on key passes and we couldn't sustain drives because the run blocking was poor and our receivers couldn't get separation. The play calling lacked any innovation even after it was clear that the vanilla plays weren't working.
8. Penalties: way too many dumb penalties and the refs seemed determined to keep Kentucky in the game by making questionable calls.
Summary: While we certainly have a good team, we do not have a great team. This team will likely lose at least 3 games: Bama, Texas and either Ole Miss or Tennessee. Hell this team could lose to SC after comparing the way that played against Kentucky in Lexington.
Kirby has missed on too many key 5 star players. We will need: a dual-threat QB to replace Beck, better receivers with at least one at McConkie's level, a RB with break-away speed, TE's who can get open and block, a true nose-tackle who can stuff the middle and put pressure on the opposing QB up the middle, and better LB's who can ensure outside containment.
Here are the stats. We lost in nearly every aspect of the game except the one that counted most, the final score:

This…and bailed them out 5 times.
Our All-World OL got their arse handed to them all night
Play calling sucked butt

The conservative, slow grandpappy pace in the 1st half has to stop. It affects the players

I’ll only disagree on 4 and 6. Gurley. Chubb. Michel. All great but we won nattys without them. Etienne ran like Barry Sanders last night but the stats don’t show it cuz it was all done just trying to get back to the line of scrimmage.
Our DL was fine for the first quarter and most of the second. But since our offense had been awful and they’re thin anyways they got tired. Guys like McCloud and Jay Jarrett weren’t really supposed to play but they had to because of how that game went and our current injuries. I thought they fought hard. I was proud.
I think last night was a perfect storm of a pissed off Kentucky,(I underestimated that) poor overall play on our part on offense, and our injuries. We escaped. Just like Mizzou 22 or Carolina last year, this CAN be a building block. Or it could have been a sign that we ain’t got it this year. Time will tell (sooner than later).

Im sure Kirby agreed with it to protect Carson. When we did spread the field we moved the ball. Then we get in the red zone and tighten up. We don’t have the blocking tight ends we’re used to having.

This is a random observation, but did UGA run a single jet sweep last night? That’s been a staple for a few years and generally seems to help loosen things up.

I generally like the guy but I don't know wtf that was last night.
Last night's offense was not a playoff offense.
Huge props to the defense, though.
