Then why even bring his name into this conversation? Nothing about us wearing black jerseys has anything to do with his midget gump arse except that he happened to win a game one time when we decided to wear them.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that the players don't. I am not saying we should go crazy like VT or Maryland with all kinds of crazy looking color schemes. I just don't see why wearing a different colored jerseys/pants is an issue.

Don't give me bullshite about "tradition" either, because that excuse is weak sauce plain and simple. It's not like we have never worn black pants or red pants before. I'm fairly certain that we have worn both within the past 30 years.

Apparently it does. You're the one who brought it up.

We don't need anything. But the black uniforms look good, are understated, and are a part of our color scheme.

Basically, since 1980, the color of the uniform hasn't changed. If 30+ years isn't tradition than I don't know what is...

I'm wondering how old you are and if you have been watching the dawgs play for the last 3 decades. I would bet not. It seems that its the Gen X/Y folks that need (crave) a change just "because". I mean, they change cell phones every year so why not change decades old traditions at UGA too, right?? It will, after all, get us on Sportscenter and THAT is what is important.

I'm 23. I don't crave change. I'm totally fine with us just wearing the red and white unis. It's the notion that wearing black is us "dressing up" and "acting like Oregon" and that all tradition is gone, that frustrates me. You really need to get over yourself and realize that it's honestly not that big of a deal. I didn't hear you bitching when we changed the numbers and logos over the summer.

I love the look of the blackout uniform set, just like my favorite Falcons config are the red throwback helmets with the black jerseys at home, too. It looks amazing. There's no special juju in the uniforms, just like they're not hexed in spite of the fact that the Dawgs have a winning record in the Blackout gear.

Just registered on this forum last month.

The font change was minimal and had nothing to do with a different color scheme.

Lol. I'm sure we could quibble over every thread of the uniform and about what constitutes tradition change from one year to the next I suppose. Lets bring back the leather helmets too! :)

We will agree to disagree. No big deal. We are both dawg fans so to me we can both be right.

People change cell phones every year because technology is constantly changing, thus rendering older versions of phones obsolete for anyone who works in a professional field.

But back to your original point, I am not saying that we should permanently change our uniforms. I just don't understand why "fans" do not want the players to have what they want every so often. Call me crazy, but those are the dudes who are actually forced to wear the uniform, it would be logical for us to attempt to appease them every now and then.

And no when I think of tradition I think 50-75 years. Closer to the century and not the decade mark Bub

For the color blind, since 1980 we've worn four different colors of britches (silver, white, black, and red) and three different colors of jersies (white, red, black). That's of course including the different home-away sets but nonetheless, we have played games away in the modern era with the red britches AND the black britches...and we've played home games with the red and black jersies.

Red and black are the school's colors...who gives a hoot if sometimes we choose to wear some combinations of these that look good and the players like?

BTW, I also agree with the posters that say we should't do this for specific games, just as some gimmick to jack people up. But maybe we should let the players come up with some new traditions...like every time we play Tech, we do something...or as someone said, for Homecoming...or whatever.

So...again for the color blind..we've had red at home, white away and then the recent stab at the oooooooohhhhh its so supercool black. Not a lot of changing around there.

How would you guys feel about changing the logo too? Seriously....is there anything that you think is sacred?

Yeah we've had combinations of all 3 over the past 30-40 years. What's your point?

Somebody made the comment that its no big deal because we change our colors all the time....

...which isn't the case. Red home...white away.
Except for the whole "idnt black coooool" trend that many of us hope will just go away.

To the Photoshop guy...actually the red with black pants looks pretty good... And the all black is sharp, too. Would make for a great blackout.

SquattingDawg...you obviously have missed a few games over the last 30 years or else you were so freaked out by the times we wore black britches and red britches on the road that you refuse to acknowledge it.

Look...it can't be denied...the black jersey looks great with the silver pants.

And honestly, on the road, the white jersey with red pants ain't too shabby either.
