Won the Natty last year and we are #1 again and likely going back for a second shot.

It’s true, life is good!

I kinda don’t think so. Sure the natty was great. We have to defend that shite and build a historic dynasty now. Get what you can while you can and we damn sure can. With bama out of the picture we are far and away the leader for taking it all again. I only say that not bc they are better but because they just seem to always have our number.

Yeah, “house money” sounds awful close to saying “oh well, we won it last year, so who cares. this is all gravy.” frick that.

Yes, 100%, it’s incredibly hard and rare to go back to back. But it’s also incredibly hard and against all odds to rack up the number of gut wrenching heartbreak close calls that we did in 41 years.

We deserve this. We earned this. We are reaping the balance of all the previous nightmares . This is real and happening. Right now

I kinda get it but also implies we are ok with losing. Soon as you lose that edge it’s over. Never has attempting to be #1 been so competitive with so much money on the line.

Think what you want but being able to do it this two years in a row is extremely rare

That is why it’s house money

Well, you might be on your own with that one

This is the mentality people had with the Braves in ‘96 and look how long it took to get back on top.

Screw that. Keep gunning and don’t let up.

You are missing the point.

Almost no teams get to be in this spot. By definition it is house money.

I am not suggesting let up. Not sure why some dolt above read this a certain way and tried to create their own narrative

The term house money is getting throw around too much. If you’re playing for a potential spot at the championship game, it’s not house money. You’re on the line to lose something. A team like Alabama at this point is playing with house money.

Some of the CFB talking heads were (in between eating copious amounts of crow for having had a hand in the overhyping of Tennessee last week) were saying yesterday "Georgia is the new Alabama", etc.

While it's nice to see them not only back pedal so hard on UTk, it feels good to see the Dawgs finally get a little bit of recognition, but we're not there yet. We're on the doorstep, but not just yet.

I want an undefeated season first, then we can talk about house money.

Absolutely. One CFP title in 41 years does not a dynasty make.

I thought we would finish top 5-10 with all we lost and next year would be our year. Wow. House money is true.

The team has basically outlived my expectations for the season.
I know we haven’t clenched the east yet but it’s close.
What I didn’t expect was to be in the second week of November sitting here as the obvious best team in the country and I really don’t think it’s close.
Needless to say my expectations have changed now.

I believe this team is every bit as good as last year's, if not better. And next year we will be even better.

Make no mistake, there is not one thing anyone deserves. Everything we have has been earned, bought and paid for in blood, sweat and tears by the players. Take that "deserved" and flush it. Those players earned everything they have reaped. To suggest any less does them a great did disservice.

We should beat MState, but they are a team that can and has come out hot and upset some teams. After the game with Tennessee I hope the team doesn't overlook them.
