Ppl like you are how Hitler got to power. Frog in a steadily heating up pot of water.

But yeah, sure, I'm the weird one.

You may not have noticed, but college athletic departments have added an extra $50 million or so to their annual expense line. In some previous life, you seem like the type who would've been on this board (and others) advocating for that to happen. So take your pick; either pay up to watch the video, or stop bitching every time you don't like the outcome on the field. Or just keep on trolling, which is what I expect you to do.

We need to all realize that it is a business. As such, if you want a business to provide you with a service, it must be paid for. Businesses are not in business to give their product away. A business MIGHT decide to provide a small portion of it's product for free, but do so as an incentive for their customer base to pay for another portion of their product.

It's called capitalism and free enterprise. We do not get whatever we want for free just because we want it. If they gave their product away they would soon go out of business and we would not get anything. We pay for tickets, concessions, merchandise...and yes, if you want to see the video, you will pay for that. They decide what they give away and what they charge for. I know a lot of people will get mad or upset with me for saying that, but that is life.

The bootlicking on this board is incredible.

Perusing social media, most everyone thinks this is a stupid idea and a disgusting sign of the times.

Not that social media is the barometer of truth, but it seems that most in the fanbase think this is lame as hell. Yet most of the replies to this thread are rationalizing or attacking the author.

"Muh capitalism" doesn't really hit when we're talking about content produced around a taxpayer-supported public university.

Only a simple boy would view that bootlicking comment through a political lens.

that seems ridiculous, but the good thing is there's dozens of other options that don't require any payments.

There's a few guys on youtube that put out ~15 minute highlight videos sometimes the same day as the game (if it's an early game), or no later than Sunday morning. Not sure why anyone would pay for highlights.

And as an aside, for anyone that has the SEC Network on whatever TV platform you use, if you aren't setting up a weekly recording of "SEC in 60" you are absolutely missing out if you love SEC football. It shows a 5-10 minute highlight reel of every SEC game played that week. I don't get the chance to just sit in front of the TV for 12 hours flipping around all the games anymore, but that doesn't bother me because I know SEC in 60 is gonna scratch that itch anyway on MOnday night.

None of the other highlights will have Dantzlers first game calls or any of the other cool B roll and production that these do.

People online have had good ideas...it should be about rewarding the people that want to sign up for the Glory glory thing, not punishing everyone else.

Make an extended cut only available for the subscribers or release it says earlier to them.

They are also replacing the G logo on the footballs with the Glory Glory logo for the WKU game next Saturday, btw.

If you're going with the "taxpayer-supported" route, why aren't tickets free and how is charging for tickets not double taxation?

Listen man, it's $20 bucks for some special highlights. Just take it easy. Comparing it to Hitler & WWII geopolitics is dramaticization to the Nth degree.

I hate it too, and it's a sign of our nickel & dime times, but come on now

It's trolling because you're ridiculing UGA for doing the same thing every other football program is doing; monetizing their football assets to cover the extremely high cost of keeping a roster. Collectives do it too. They sell content, merchandise, access, etc.

You act like UGA football raising funds is some new affront to your sensibilities, but I think you know that it's happening everywhere and you know why. The question is why do you dislike it when UGA does it.

Why don't you start your own collective, run it how you like and raise money for UGA. Oh right, you're opposed to raising money for UGA football and would never do that. You're an old-fashioned fan that wants UGA to do it the hard way, without money. Or you're a bootlicker for boots of some other colors than red and black.
