Any idea the next time we play in Nashville after 2023? This was becoming a very popular bi-annual road trip for Dawg fans. I always have a good time in Nashville.

yah, that's what I figured. I assume they go with the 3 permanent rivals(Fl, Auburn, and SC); then otherwise we play everyone else at least once every 3 or 4 years. So likely one trip to Nashville every 6-8 years. I really liked the Nashville and Knoxville road trips. Both great road trips from Atlanta.

I thought I read it was only 1 permanent and 9 cross?

that's because you're using common sense, logic, and rational thinking. Unfortunately none of those things matter to the people running the conference and the TV networks since all they care about is money. So it's looking more and more likely that we will stay at 8 conference games despite continuing to grow, leaving only 1 permanent opponent for each team.

South Carolina was really only a rival in the spurrier years.
I would much rather keep Tennessee as a rival.

They are our 6th most played opponent in history in a series dating back to 1894. There's plenty of history there even if it was only really venomous for a short blip. By that same token, is there really much hatred in our series with Tennessee aside from the 90s when they ran roughshod over us? Obviously we dislike them but there isn't a lifetime of animosity there like there is with UF or AU.

On the flip side, it's not all about us. We are SC's #1 SEC rival by a mile so if we do have 3 permanent opponents there's no way we aren't one of theirs, unless they come up with some convoluted formula based on win percentage or something.

There was another targeting ejection in that game where it was one of the most beautiful textbook hits on a receiver on a crossing route. Hit him in the chest. Got a targeting penalty. Anyone remember that play or who it was?

Ramik hit was shoulder to shoulder similar to Bullard's hit vs Harrison Jr.

There was another targetting hit he might be referring to, but I don't remember the details of it. I do vividly remember the bullshite of the Ramik call.

I think they kicked out Ray Drew in the same game for brushing the QB’s face mask for targeting. I was out of my mind irate.

I was at that game and lost it. My seats were 2 rows behind the Vandy bench. Back then, even if the call was overturned the 15 yard penalty stood. That changed the next season.
