No. Reread my responses in this thread and you will see that at no point have I indicated that Chip or any beat writer broke news of Zamir's injury.

Not sure why you are so offended by anything I've said here. All the writers on the beat do a good job of respecting player privacy with injuries. That isn't really what I was talking about here, even though Kirby did mention it in the presser

Edit: and to answer your question, any "bitching" I have done about writers is surrounding their propensity to moan and complain about not having more practice access.

So who exactly are you mad at?

The whole situation makes me mad, as most injuries do, not only because I hate it for the player and the team, but also because there is a TON of inaccurate, misdirected, and downright wrong information that gets circulated around anytime there is a knee injury.

Who exactly is dispensing this inaccurate information if you think Chip and company are accurate in what they're reporting?

People, fans, human beings. In general, most are uneducated in regards to knee injuries and yet throw out "conventional wisdom" authoritatively.

Mostly, I'm just mad at the whole situation because I hate it for the kid.

Guess that would be mostly the fault of social media...
for better or worse it's the age we're in.

Probably true. Injuries suck. Chip is a clown. Football is close.

Unfortunately for guys like Chip we have amateurs who run blogs and other websites that want to pretend they are journalist. They try to make a name for themselves by trying to break the story even if they misrepresent the facts unknowingly.

And for the record, there are some awesome blogs out there like Get the Picture but there are many more that are not high quality and they make things worse for actual journalists.

Agreed to disagree...he has some bad moments but I think he does a good job of covering the dawgs.

Agree. Overall he's a good sports journalist. He's just having a bitchy moment this week.

Does Chip work at a For Profit newspaper desperate for clicks, headlines, and breaking news?

He does.

You can argue that he's better than others. But that doesn't make him tolerable. He has too many strikes in his past to overlook.

It goes both ways. A guy working in a “clickbait” system is also far more accountable for the integrity of the content than a random blogger. Yes he has to get clicks but there has to be quality content on the other end of that click to keep the clicks coming.

What exactly was all this inaccurate information he was
responsible for? Here's a list of his recent past articlesgo ahead and point them out.

Who exactly do you like as a beat writer for the dawgs?

The internet/blogs/chat rooms/twitter has decimated the newspaper’s value in getting fans info on their favorite ball club. Their saving grace is access. Kirbs has put a choke hold on it and it is hurting them. If he follows the unwritten rules, he sits on the sidelines while the scoop makes its rounds and loses its news value. So, if Kirbs doesn’t play ball, he is going to start running with the rumors for the clicks... and Chip knows where the bodies are buried. I see this as a shot across the bow and I say he has earned the right...

The expectations of creating constant content is a bit ridiculous. I mean...who needs a daily podcast all year long? It’s silly to think how many grown men draw an income from reporting daily about the comings and goings of a college football team.

These guys created a monster that they now have to feed. You squeeze off access it hits them in the pocket.

He's got about 25+ years reporting on the dawgs. Sadly, I haven't bookmarked his inadequacies.

As a matter of fact, I stop reading writers that I disapprove of (with regards to strikes against them). Why support what I don't like, right? I'm sure that makes sense to you.

I read David hale daily. Same with Gentry Estes.

I'm probably listening to more podcasts lately. Dawgnation daily. Punt n pass. Waitin since last saturday. Glory UGA. Those are the regulars. I also catch others on a less regular basis.

How much repeat do you hear? Same info, same "breaking" news, same opinions, same hot takes, same controversies, same rumors, same guests.... over and over within the same day? That seems like oversaturation to me. You really read and listen to all of that, every single day?

David hale and gentry Estes haven't been on the uga beat in years. I'm not reading them daily, now.

I don't catch those podcasts daily in the offseason. I listen to other podcasts.

As for their content, they are all pretty different. Dawgnation daily is the only one with the beat writer perspective. Most of the others produce content about 2 times per week.
